Sarah Kim - Paris Conservatoire
"Sarah Kim is one of the leading young Australian organists of her generation. After completing her Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance in 2005 with Philip Swanton at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (first-class honours, University Medal), Sarah was admitted into the "Cycle de Perfectionnement" class of Olivier Latry and Michel Bouvard at the Paris Conservatoire and has since performed on various historically significant instruments throughout Europe. Recent prominent concerts have been given at St Lawrence Jewry (London), St Eustache (Paris), Les Invalides (Paris), and Notre-Dame Cathedral (Paris).
During her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium, Sarah held organ scholarships at Sydney University, St James' Anglican Church, King Street, Sydney and St Paul's College, Sydney University. She gained invaluable experience giving recitals at major venues in Sydney and accompanying various choirs and orchestras, including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Chamber Choir, and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. As continuo organist for the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs' 'Immortal Bach' series, Sarah featured in many ABC direct broadcasts. She also made broadcast recordings with ABC Classic-FM and 2MBS-FM.
Sarah has maintained her interest in choral and ensemble accompaniment by playing for services at St Michael's Anglican Church, the American Church in Paris and deputising on the Cavaillé-Coll organ in Colombes. She also featured as continuo organist for the "Ensemble Orchestral de Paris" in their Bach and Mozart concerts."
