The Silver Anniversary Concert
A FREE concert celebrating 25 years of the Sydney Opera House Grand Organ
The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall Grand Organ is an extraordinary instrument with over 10,000 pipes, it is the largest mechanical action organ in the world. It was designed by Australian Ronald Sharp and completed in 1979.
To celebrate the Silver Anniversary, Sydney Opera House is offering the people of Sydney the opportunity to hear a free concert of organ music demonstrating the full range of the Grand Organs power from iconic Baroque classics to Wurlitzer-style popular favourites.
The concert will be presented by ABC Radios Guy Noble and feature seven of Australias finest organists:
