4.00 pm Sydney Grammar School, College Street
To celebrate the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach, four of Sydney Grammar's organists will join me in presenting a concert on Sunday afternoon, March 29th. The programme will start and finish with Bach's two dramatic Preludes and Fugues in e minor, inbetween will be samples of music written by Bach's influential predecessors, Frescobaldi and Buxtehude. Jacky Dong (Form VI) will play JSB's sublimely crafted Trio Sonata in c minor.
As usual, the concert will feature the 2004 Mander organ in Big School; in addition this year we will also be playing Grammar's other organic treasure, the 1996 Bernhard Fleig continuo organ. This Swiss-built instrument is uncompromisingly Baroque in style, and suits the music perfectly.
The concert will last approximately one hour.Venue: Big SchoolAdmission: free
Parking will be available on the Middle Playground.
