This year we celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the cathedral's 1898 Norman & Beard Pipe Organ.
To mark this milestone occasion, a GALA concert will be held on Sunday 12th November at 3.00pm.

The concert will feature a performance of the magnificent Concerto in G minor for Organ, Strings & Timpani by French Composer, Francis Poulenc.   The guest soloist will be acclaimed organ recitalist Mr. David Drury, who will be accompanied by professional string and timpani players. 

In addition there will be items performed by St. Patrick's Cathedral Choir and organists including the following:

Prelude & Fugue in C major BWV 545     J.S. Bach 

Chorale No.1 in E major       C. Franck 

Lament for Organ & Cello      Adriel Sukumar  (Newly commissioned work) 

Gothic Toccata       G. Koehne 

Evening Hymn "Te Lucis"        H. Balfour-Gardiner 

Te Deum in G        R. Vaughan Williams 

Poetry Readings 

A further special performance will be given by the 2023 winner of the Intermediate section of the Sydney Organ Competition, Mr. Bailey Yeates. 

Proceeds from the concert (after expenses) will be donated to the work of Catholic Agencies who support the homeless and needy in the Diocese of Parramatta, including the "House of Welcome". 

The concert is guaranteed to be an afternoon of very fine and enjoyable music!
