Sunday 9 February 2020
1.30pm - State Theatre, 49 Market Street
The Organ Music Society of Sydney (OMSS) and Theatre Organ Society Australia NSW (TOSA NSW) have been offered the opportunity for members to visit the State Theatre (Market Street, Sydney) and see and hear the now restored Wurlitzer (Style 270SP, Opus 2005).
The event is planned for Sunday 9th February, 2020 at 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
The committees of both societies have chosen to subsidise the cost of this visit to the value of $10 per member choosing to participate. This means it will only cost a member $15.44 instead of the full price of $25.44 plus a small booking fee.
To participate you need to do one the following:
Pay $15.44 by bank transfer or cheque to OMSS. Bank transfer is preferred of course.
THE ORGAN MUSIC SOCIETY OF SYDNEY
BSB: 032 086 AC: 373962
Please note that you MUST include your surname and 1 Tix in the payment description eg. if your surname is "Smithy" include the description as "SMITHY 1 Tix". This enables your payment to be identified.
If you are not able to pay by bank transfer then please post a cheque for $15.44 payable to:
Organ Music Society of Sydney
OMSS Secretary
244 Galston Road
HORNSBY HEIGHTS NSW 2077
All payments, whether bank transfer or cheque, MUST be received by CoB Friday, 31st January, 2020. After this date TOSA NSW will make a bulk purchase of the required number of tickets to the event. The bulk purchased tickets will be distributed at the entry foyer of the State Theatre and checked off a list on the day of the event. If you have multiple OMSS members in your house then you can include those members in the transfer or cheque payment method and of course calculate the extra payment amount.
If for whatever reason you wish to purchase your ticket/s to the event yourself at the full price plus transaction fee you may do so. If you are privately purchasing please use this specific link below. The booking is through Ticketmaster but you must have the correct link to the event – it is not publicly listed on their site.

It will not be possible to "turn up on the day" without having pre-purchased a ticket via either method described above. There are no free-passes.
Remember this is a limited seating and once-only event. There will be a short tour of some of the recently restored areas of the theatre including the famous Butterfly Room, but it is impossible for any access to the chambers – especially as they are 30 metres above the stage and impractical for members of the public to access. It is expected all seating will be in the Stalls area which means very little stair climbing and of course we get to experience the sub-floor Diaphones.
Three players have been chosen to be at the console on the day. They are Simon Ellis, young member of TOSA NSW and OMSS and recent graduate of Organ Studies at the NSW Conservatorium, Titus Grenyer, and Cliff Bingham. They are looking forward to showing you the fully restored Wurlitzer.
Looking forward to seeing you at the State Theatre, Market St, Sydney on Sunday 9th February.
