Members' Playing Afternoon
St Luke's Anglican Church, Mosman
Cnr Ourimbah Rd and Heydon StSaturday 4th July 2015, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm
This is your opportunity to play the organ inaugurated in 2013.
Or just come and listen!
Players are invited prepare a favourite piece. We hope to compile an interesting informal concert which will explore the registrations available on the organ. Quiet compositions would be welcome, as a contrast to loud toccatas!
$5 Charge. Tea or coffee will be provided. Hugh Knight will be moderator.
The organ at St Luke's was built in 1905 by George Fincham and Sons, Melbourne, for St Philip's Presbyterian Church, Newcastle. It was purchased by St Luke's in 2006, and was a three-manual 20 rank instrument. It was rebuilt and enlarged by John Parker with electro-pneumatic action. The completed organ has 15 additional ranks from various sources, and a new terraced console. Peter Ellis is the Director of Music.
