J W Walker & Sons 1965, restored Peter D G Jewkes 1986 (2/27 electro-pneumatic)

From SOJ February/March 1985, August/September 1986, Winter 1995:

The organ in this chapel was built by J W Walker & Sons, Ruislip, Middlesex, in 1965 and was opened in that year by Keith Asboe. The console (now detached and located opposite on the floor in the choir) has a typical Walker layout with double-touch stopkeys. The organ has an eclectic tonal design and is operated by electro-pneumatic action. The specification was designed by Ralph Downes.

The organ was restored over the Christmas/New Year period of 1985-86 by Peter D G Jewkes Pty Ltd. This included renewal of the action and console fittings, various repairs and cleaning, and certain modifications and additions to the organs tonal scheme. The revised specification was devised by Peter Jewkes and the School's Director of Music, Mr Donald Holder.
