Melbourne Organ Ramble - Queen's Birthday Weekend 2008



ITINERARY (as of 1/5/08)

Saturday 7th June: 

2.00pm - Meet at Baptist Church, Collins Street

3.30pm - St John’s Lutheran Church Southbank (optional)

5.00pm - Scots Church - Demonstration of organ followed by a recital of the winning entries in the Organ Composition Competition. 

7.00pm - Dinner at St Peter's, Eastern Hill, with guest speaker June Nixon   


Sunday 8th June: 

Morning services:

10.30am - St Paul’s Cathedral
11.00am - St Patrick’s Cathedral
11.00am - Scots Church
10.30am - Baptist Church
11.30am - St Michael’s U.C. with music programme
Also St Francis, Lonsdale Street
9.30am - St Mark’s, Fitzroy – followed by organ demonstration and open console until about 12 noon 

Sunday Afternoon:       
4.00pm - St Patrick’s Cathedral - short recital and open console
6.00pm - Trinity College - Evensong - Canterbury Fellowship followed by demonstration Jonathan Bradley and open console
6.00pm - St Paul's Cathedral – Evensong - followed by open console   


Monday 9th June:

Morning: 8.50am - Melbourne Town Hall - demonstration and viewing of instrument   

Possible other venues: Christ Church South Yarra, St John's Church Toorak, Toorak Uniting Church, Hamer Hall, Blackwood Hall (Monash University). 






QUEENS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND 2008 - Organ Ramble to Melbourne

As at 3rd February, information on the latest planning from Melbourne is given below.

It is not too late for anyone to enlist for this ramble. Contact Geoff Lloyd, preferably by email organsec@tpg.com.au or telephone (02) 9476 1530 as soon as possible. Geoff also has some leaflets on the two hotels suggested below - contact him if you would like to receive them.

Transport to/from Melbourne and accommodation will be the responsibility of individual ramblers. It looks as if arrival in Melbourne on the Friday would be the best approach. Departure perhaps on the latter part of Monday afternoon. Two suggestions for accommodation are:
